Nickolas & Cory

Eloping on the first day of re-opening

It was late morning on June 5th when we got alert that Phase 2 had started for Pierce County. Cory and Nickolas’s elopement had been scheduled on June 6th and we had been waiting to the last minute to see if it was a go or not. IT WAS A GO! Within the hour, I was at the Chapel prepping and making sure we were all set for the next day. We had just installed a tv for Zoom broadcasted elopements and I wanted to make sure everything was working properly.

The next day came and I have to admit, I was a little nervous because I hadn’t done a wedding in two and half months and I just wanted it to be perfect for them. But once the two of them arrived, all my jitters went away because they were so happy and just beaming at each other (plus they brought their adorable little dogs with them).

They walked together down the aisle hand in hand to I Like Me Better by Lauv while their loved ones watched on Zoom. They had two witnesses present to sign their paperwork but over a dozen groups of people watching LIVE on Zoom. Funny thing is that this tiny elopement might have been the biggest audience ever at Elope 253 with everyone watching from home.

Cory and Nickolas took turns tearing up while they said their “I do’s” and I teared up while they read their vows to each other. There was so much love in our tiny space that day and I just wish these two a big and happy life together.

Love is Love
